FAQ

Friendly, compassionate care for your pets and you

How do I register with Furness Vets?

We are currently operating at near capacity. To allow us to continue to offer the level of care we want to we aren't currently taking new patients that already have a vet locally.  If you aren't already registered with another local practice then email info@furnessvets.co.uk or call on 01229846782.  For patients already registered locally we are operating a waiting list which we are happy to add you to by contacting us as above.

Can I bring my new puppy/dog for socialisation visits?

Absolutely, socialisation visits are a fantastic way for your pets to come into the practice without something stressful happening, you can either make an appointment with a nurse or just pop in and say hi... there's always a jar of gravy bones on the front desk to make it a positive experience.

Do you do your own out of hours?

Yes, we are very adamant that it is important that you see a vet in the practice you are registered with, with full access to your pets records.  Out of hours the phones divert directly to the duty vet.

Can I have a home visit?

Yes, we are happy to do home visits where you have trouble transporting your pet.  As these take a lot more time they do normally require booking further in advance.  For end of life care we do always try to be as flexible as possible.

Do you have a health plan?

No, we believe in bespoke care tailored to your pets lifestyle and needs.  We also believe in keeping our fees fair for all so don't offer discounted plans.
